In the late 1980’s, The Finnish Defense Forces started a project to improve the RK 62 assault rifle’s firing features and rate of fire. As a result, the RK 95 TP was born. In the new model, the gun’s recoil has been decreased with a muzzle break and it is more easily handled when using automatic fire. Other features are for example a folding stock, easily adjustable sights, attachment possibility for a rail and the ability to shoot rifle grenades.
The RK 95 TP is used by the Finnish Defense Forces and especially the special forces, crisis management units and operative units. Thus, this gun is familiar to all Finns who have completed their general conscription or voluntary military service.
The RK 95 TP airsoft version originated when G&G asked airsoft players which gun model they would like to see in airsoft next. The players voted for the Finnish assault rifle as number one choice and so G&G ended up making it under the gun model name GK99. The gun was made from blueprints and photographs using 3D modeling, and the required dimensions were changed, so that the necessary airsoft components could fit inside.
The body and outer barrel of the gun are made of aluminum. The receiver cover, folding stock, trigger guard and magazine release, selector switch, gas tube, front retainers, gas block adjustment lever, rear sight’s diopter part and flash suppressor are made of steel. The pistol grip, front handguard, magazine and the folding stock coating are plastic. On the inside, there is a G&G version 3 gearbox, which has a pneumatic blowback. The pneumatic blowback is neat, because it doesn’t cause any extra resistance for the gears and the motor, like mechanical blowbacks do. Instead the blowback works with air pressure, because there is an extra cylinder above the gearbox, which gets air from the main cylinder. As a result we have a blowback mechanism that reacts to the piston’s movements and doesn’t strain the other parts.
The gun is compatible with AK series' magazines. However, because of the magwell’s dimensions, we recommend checking that the bigger magazines (e.g. CYMA AK magazines) fit carefully before forcing the magazine in place. We have found that the MAG waffle type magazines, are suitable and work great.
Tradesoft Special Edition is delivered with special handguards: supporting walls have been removed and battery compartment can handle much larger batteries! 11.1V Crane Type LiPos fit with ease, but as stock we recommend 7.4V batteries, for example Battery Ram 7.4V 2600 mAh or 2000 mAh battery. The larger 2600 mAh battery however needs the connector to be changed into Deans connector.
To “Ninetyfivers” sourced from other places than Tradesoft that have regular hand guards can take Battery Ram 7.4V 1500mAh LiPo crane type and Battery Ram 11.1V 1500mAh LiPo crane type” -batteries.
Note! Remember that using powerful batteries, like 11.1V battery in the gun makes you lose the warranty. Warranty terms.
The Vector Optics Galil RIS rail and Tempest sight are sold separately.
Battery and charger are not included with this gun. To make sure the warranty of your gun is valid, you may use 7.4V LiPo/Li-Ion or 8.4V and 9.6V NiCd/NiMH batteries with a maximum capacity of 3100mAh. Using a battery with a higher nominal voltage or capacity voids the warranty.

The functionality of all our guns is tested and the muzzle velocity measured before shipping. The velocity is measured with a 0.20 g BB and the final muzzle velocity is calculated from the average of five (5) shots. In fact, the muzzle velocities you see in our online shop are approximations reported by the supplier or manufacturer. Thus, the actual muzzle velocity of your gun may differ from the approximation upwards or downwards. However, we always mark the final muzzle velocity on the maintenance and user manual provided with the gun.
