Tasmanian Tiger Hydration/Utility Pouch MKII, OD (Tac Pouch 11)

NOTE! Unlike in the picture, this is a newer MKII model, where the top main part of the pocket is now laser cut to have PALS/MOLLE. The fluffy velcro can still be found but only on the bottom of the pocket.

The Tasmanian Tiger Tac Pouch 11 is probably the most ingenious hydration bladder/utility pouch out there. Firstly, the zipper is cleverly placed in the middle so that you can easily access the contents and at the same time the extra capacity has been moved to the sides so that overpacking does not change the fighter’s shape as much. The sides and top of the pouch are made out of elastic fabric, which means you can increase the capacity inside the pouch as well. The bottom, however, is made out of Cordura, so that the pouch will not start drooping even when packed a little heavy.

A two-liter hydration bladder fits best into the pouch, but you can also fit a bigger one in there, if you fold the extra parts out of the way. When designing the compartmentalization on the inside, the engineers at Tasmanian Tiger have clearly had medical supplies in mind, because there are an abundance of securing loops for equipment inside the pouch.

The features on the inside…

• A hydration bladder hanger and a tube passthrough
• Four elastic straps hat are divided into multiple loops with a 2 wide and 4 narrow ones method.
• An elastic cord with a cord lock

… and the outside

• On the sides there are mesh pockets with elastic openings. They hold, i.a., 33 centiliter beverage cans.
• The sides also have compression straps that can be used to secure the pouch.
• The outer surface has 1 × 3 PALS/MOLLE matrices on either side of the zipper
• There are 5 × 14.5 cm loop Velcro on the matrices

The measurements of the pouch are around 17 × 31 × 10 cm, which is about 5 liters. The pouch weighs 265 grams. The main material is 700 denier Cordura and T-Stretch fabric. When completely attached, the pouch takes up 4 × 7 PALS/MOLLE rows. In addition, the pouch can be firmly attached to six rows, if there is not enough space vertically.
