JeffTron Leviathan V3 Optical Drop-In MOSFET/Microcontroller Unit with Two-Stage Trigger

Leviathan Optical is one of the most advanced ETUs (Electronic Trigger Unit) on the market. The settings can be tinkered with via Bluetooth with basically any iOS or Android smart phone. Leviathan replaces the traditional trigger switch - no soldering needed! In general this bad boy gives you new features and upgrades the replica to a new level.

V2 gearbox version is supplied with aluminum adjustable CNC machined special trigger making it possible to adjust the trigger pull to only 0.13 mm! It is also possible to use the replica's original trigger with the unit, but this requires modifying the trigger. Fortunately, the manufacturer has very clear pictured instructions for this!

Note! V3 Leviathan does not come with a trigger, but by default the replica's standard trigger is used. However, there are hair trigger padding pieces (2x1 mm and 2x2 mm) delivered with the unit, that can be used to shorten the trigger pull.

Features:

• Fully adjustable fire modes, including SAFE.

• Battery too low voltage indicator. This works with 2S-4S/7,4-14,8 V LiPo and 3S-4S / 9,9-13,2 V LiFe batteries.
• A virtual magazine mode to simulate a low/real cap magazine.
• Power connector for external accessories, like tracer units attached to hop-up.
• Comprehensive statistics available, like cycle timing, motor power consumption and rate of fire.
• The app shows the actual battery voltage in real time.
• The user can save several different configurations in different profiles.
• The operating system can be updated. Updates often fix issues and add new features to the unit.
• 3 different shot counters: the first counts all shots during the device's lifetime, the second can be reset by the user e.g. after maintenance, and the third is reset every time the battery is removed from the device.
• The error log shows the problems that have arisen during the use of the device.
• The wireless Bluetooth connection can be disabled. Security is the key!
• The device monitors the current, voltage and temperature of the unit, protecting itself from damage in possible failure situations.
• The programmed settings are saved in real time.

Installing and using:

• Installing the device inside a gearbox requires an understanding and knowledge of airsoft replica's inner workings - when in doubt, consult a professional.
• Read the user manual carefully before installing the Leviathan unit.
• A short circuit or incorrectly connected battery will break the unit immediately! Incorrect connection voids the warranty and can have fiery results with the battery!
• Always remove the battery from the replica when the replica is not in use! Otherwise, the unit will gradually drain your battery, in which case the battery may break. (When the battery is connected, Leviathan consumes the battery with a small current in stand by mode.)
• Always ensure the safe orientation of the barrel before connecting the battery!
• Do not modify or repair the Leviathan V2 circuit or expose it to liquids or heat.

RFTS, Two Stage Trigger, walls? Now there are two of them!

The Leviathan V3 Optical unit comes with a RFTS (Real Feel Trigger System) spring mechanism, where a separate spring simulates the feel of a real trigger. In addition to the RFTS solution, this product also comes with a new "two-stage trigger", so what is that?

The two-stage trigger is 3D-printed block and a spring steel leaf spring that mimics the behavior of a 2-stage trigger in a real gun. With it you know exactly when the shot is released. The trigger pull of an AEG can't get much more realistic than this!

Operation of two-stage trigger explained in two phases:

1. First, the trigger is being pulled evenly, an then it feels like it hits a wall.
2. In stage two, the shooter increases the pressure on the trigger, after which the wall breaks, and then a "click" releases the shot.

This solution was designed by gunsmith Tomas Linhart, just like other solutions in the Jefftron RFTS family. The two-stage trigger differs from the RFTS-V3 spring supplied with the Leviathan V3 and offers better trigger response and feel.

MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor)

The unit reduces power loss due to normal mechanical contact in the trigger switch. When using MOSFET only the signal current flows through the trigger switch and the actual running current goes directly from the battery to the motor. This prevents the burning of the trigger contacts, which is going to happen sooner or later, especially when using powerful batteries – the average lifetime for contact surfaces in an actively used gun is around one year. At the same time, the MOSFET unit enables the maximum power flow in the circuit without unnecessary resistance due to worn trigger contacts. This also gives you a higher rate of fire and a faster trigger response.
