Vector Paragon is pleasingly light, less than 700 g, and with the included strapped pouch it is very easy to carry to the field when needed. Binoculars excel at observation position (OP for you tactical nerds) as with two separate tubes it is easier to estimate distances compared to the traditional simple method of using ones magnifying gun sights. Worried about reflections? Just stretch a piece of pantyhose in front of the front lenses.
IPX6, as classified by the IP Standard, is a rating of protection against mechanical intrusion. The letter X means that protection against solid particles, like dust, has not been measured. The number 6 indicates protection against powerful water jets.
Testing procedure goes as follows: 100 liters per minute of water with a pressure of 100 kilopascals (15 psi) is directed at the product from a distance of 3 meters. The test duration is 1 minute per square meter, with a minimum duration of 3 minutes. In other words, there’s not a lot to worry about water with an IPX6 rated product!
Sunclear Tac Vector Optics, or Vector Optics for short, is a company which manufactures optical sights, sight mounts, flashlights and other accessories for firearms. Most of the products are made from aluminum and are both shockproof and waterproof. The sights can handle recoil (for example, 5.56×45 and 7.62×51 mm) which means that they won’t adjust on their own because of the recoil or small blows in the ground. Furthermore, the tube-shaped red dot sights and scopes have been filled with nitrogen which prevents the lenses from fogging up on the inside.
