The product is placed on the spot of the original rear sight, replacing the rear sight and providing the opportunity to attach an optical sight in the best place. Fitting seems to be pretty tight with most of the models, so the rail shouldn’t wobble that much. This varies between different models. Mounting might require some filing!
The cover is made of steel, and the rail is made of aluminum.
