Emerson Padded Metal Mesh Lower Face Mask with Ear Protection, OD

A lower face mask made of woven steel mesh is a great choice especially for a fighter who prefers to wear goggles. The mesh makes it easier to breathe and the woven mesh withstands a hit even from a powerful gun. The padded sides made of Cordura-like fabric conform to the face better than a standard face guard wholly made out of mesh and thanks to the padding it’s comfortable to wear. Of course, when it’s hotter, the fabric doesn’t breathe as well as the mesh, but it won’t make your face melt. This model has been craftily continued to reach above the ears. The part that goes on top of your ears is made of the same mesh as the part in front of your mouth, so the mask doesn’t hinder your hearing.

This Emerson model is a nice improvement to the standard mesh masks in our opinion. Thanks to the padded and conforming sides, the mask sits very well on the face and you don’t have to bend it. It also doesn’t press on your chin or cheeks like some mesh masks do.

The face mask fits an adult’s face nicely at least with Bolle X1000 goggles or Nuprol Pro mesh goggles. Very large ballistic goggles might not fit very well with this kind of face masks, at least without modifying the mask. Remember that modifying the mask means you lose the warranty and can’t return the product!
